Wonder Looper Zip Hoodie Iron Mordant Foxfibre® Double Heavyweight French Terry Coyote 80
The Wonder Looper Zip Hoodie in Iron Mordant Foxfibre® Coyote 80 is built from one of the heaviest French terry fabrics produced today, weighing an exceptional 825 GSM (24.3oz/yd²). Its deep, organic brown tone is not the result of conventional dyeing, but comes from Foxfibre®—a rare, naturally pigmented cotton grown on a single-origin organic farm in New Mexico—and is further enriched through a traditional iron mordant treatment. This process causes the cotton’s natural tannins to react, gradually darkening and deepening the color as the garment is worn, washed, and exposed to sunlight, developing a unique patina over time.
The Coyote 80 blend combines 80% Foxfibre® with 20% organically grown Extra Long Staple cotton, creating a material that is both remarkably durable and surprisingly soft. The fabric is knit in Wakayama, Japan, on low-gauge (10G) circular knitting machines, giving it a dense, irregular exterior texture and large, comfortable loops on the interior.
The hoodie features a drawstring hood, split hand-warmer pockets, and raglan sleeves for ease of movement. Ribbed side panels, cuffs, and hem provide structure and flexibility, while flat seam construction enhances durability and comfort against the skin. A heavy-gauge, two-way Waldes zipper completes the piece with functional sturdiness and refined vintage character.
This is a garment for those who value heritage construction, natural fiber character, and slow craft done to the highest standard.
Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese brand, we find the sizing of Wonder Looper garments to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American sweatshirts, you'll find a suitable fit with this piece in size M. However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.
