The "Ishikawadai" series takes us back to 1953, paying homage to the craftsmanship of Ishikawa Seisakujo. Using one of the oldest Japanese ring spinning machines still in operation, this denim embodies a rare connection to history. The "Ishikawadai" machine runs at just one-third the speed of modern spinning equipment, reducing stress on the cotton fibers and enhancing their natural qualities. The result is a fabric with a rich, uneven texture, reminiscent of hand-spun cotton, which is nearly impossible to replicate with modern, automated machines. This intentional irregularity gives the denim an antique-like charm, standing apart from the uniformity of mass-produced textiles.

Dyed with indigo, the warp threads preserve the cotton's unique properties, bypassing standard refinement processes. The production uses traditional, low-tech methods to create denim that mirrors the spirit of vintage 1953 textiles.
